Inspired from a 1903 fashion plate, this gown will include a bodice and a skirt made on your measurement using historical techniques and hand stitching for all the finishing details.
In your order will be included also a mock up of the dress to (see mock-up section of the listing)

The gown in the photos is made of silk shantung doubled with silk voile and silk georgette, and decorated with green details and black bows in faux silk  plus hand made and hand dyed silk flowers.

The bodice is also decorated by a hand pleated motif, it has synthetic whalebones inside and its opening on the front is hidden by the asymmetrical design of the bodice itself; like other historical pieces of this period it's fastened with hooks. The petal motif of the skirt is present also in the sleeves.
The skirt has a short train, an additional row of pleated georgette peeks under the petal motif and the balayeuse, even if it's supposed to be a hidden detail, is colorful, cut with a vintage picking machine and hand stitched. The skirt too is fastened with hooks: the opening on the centre back it's hidden by the skirt cut.

Corset, petticoat, hip pads, bust emproovers and undergarments are not included in this listing, but they can be requested: see the following “custom orders” section.

(Please note: this gown requires underpinnings to achieve the correct silhouette.)
Gloves and brooch are not included in this listing.

Colors and fabric

The gown will be made in the color/colors of your choice: please send a message to check color / fabric availability.

If you would like a more ethereal look like the one in the photo I will show you similar fabric samples, but if instead you would like a more structured look while keeping the pleats and petal motif please let me know and I will propose different fabrics that will achieve that desired look.
Fabric or color availability depends on the suppliers and usually will change from month to month.

Design/fabric change and/or any addition of decorative details must be requested before purchase and involve a variation in costs; your fabric choice must be communicated before purchase.

Measurements

Once you have placed your order, you will receive a list of the measurements that will be needed to make your bespoke gown  plus a diagram or tutorial that will show you how to correctly take those measurements: if you don't feel confident in the process and you can't book an appointment at the studio, you can request a video call.

Mock-up and fitting

Once I have received your measurements and drafted the pattern for your gown I will make a mock-up of the gown: this prototype will be necessary to achieve the correct fitting for this dress.

The mock up service is provided both for customers who can come by the studio for fittings and for customers living abroad.

Customers living abroad will receive the mock-up via courier: we will schedule a video call in which we are going to check the fitting and, once any changes have been established, the customer will send the prototipe back to Elaine's studio (please note: the cost of the mock-up shipment, return and custom fees are charged to the customer).

The cost of the mock-up and fitting is already included in the price of this gown but the eventual shippings fees are not, so please note: before placing your order send via message or at elainecouture.info@gmail.com the shipping address, your height and bust-chest-hips circumference so I can calculate the cost of the shipping and return cost and add it to your total.
Instead if you come to try it at the studio there will be no shipping costs to add.
