These stays are suitable for 1770's and 1780's attire; they create the historical shape of this period supporting your bust and shaping your waist, plus they are lightweight.
 
They are made of a light camel linen fabric outside and they are lined with undyed cotton; the boning is synthetic whalebone.
The straps are adjustable, a light chestnut brown grosgrain ribbon is hand stitched over each seam as decoration and the side gore is topstitched by hand with ivory silk thread.
The binding all around the corset is hand sewed and it's made in the same fabric of the stays.
The stays have spiral back lacing and an adjustable front opening: the worked eyelets are hand-stitched with ivory silk thread and they are offset to allow spiral lacing.
Two sets of strings, one yellow (cotton) and one brown (polyester) are provided: due to their composition the cotton one has a better grip and will keep your stays laced correctly for hours.
 
You can also add the linen shift depicted in the pictures to your purchase.
The shift is made of white linen and all the finishing, inside and outside, are hand-sewn.
The neckline is adjustable with a drawstring: the whipped eyelets, two at center front and two and the center back of the neckline, are hidden inside and made with silk thread. The shift reaches below the knees and the two gores on the sides give the chemise extra fullness.
The sleeves stop before the elbow and have a gusset under the arms.
 
These stays and shift were made as a sample piece for the shop, for this reason they are both offered at a significantly reduced price.

Corset and stays have a different wearability compared to other garments, to check your measurement for a stays you need to take first your bust and waist measurement without tighten or enlarging the circumference, and then you will take again these measurements but tightening the measuring tape by a few centimeters (for example 7 cm or 11 cm or more, each person has a different body and the circumference reduction changes from person to person); this will show to what extent you will still be comfortable and which are your measurements for a pair of stays.

Hip circumference: from 96 cm - 101 to cm
Recommended for a person with a waist height (=the distance from the shoulder to the waist line) about 44 cm and hips about 18 - 19 cm below the waist
